ABOUT
ME
Hi, I’m Drew and I was a born organizer. At an early age, my matchbox car collection was always meticulously organized and cleaned which naturally led to my first business: detailing cars in high school and college. At the same time, I was always tinkering with computers. After graduating from college, I spent ten years helping to protect our nation’s electronic grid and power infrastructure from cyber-attacks. I held multiple cyber security certifications in the past and still hold the CISSP designation today. Looking for a new challenge, I enrolled in the Certified Financial Planner Education program at Rice University and started working at a Registered Investment Advisor. Today I apply my cyber security and organizational skills in my financial planning and investment management career.
In my leisure time, you can find me with my wife and daughter, checking out new restaurants and bars in the Houston area, or in my driveway, cleaning my car.

How can my expertise in organization, technology, cyber security, and finances help you? Take advantage of my skills to help you get started and succeed in Organizing Your Financial Life.
Many things today that are intended to “help” you stay on top of your finances can make you feel like you are drowning in paper and documents. Technology helps with many aspects of our daily lives, but it does not necessarily make our lives simpler or easier. What store or online account today doesn't send you a monthly or quarterly statement? How can one expected to keep your paperwork straight and organized? Life is messy and complicated and now we have extra paperwork added to it! If you have ever worked with a financial planner, you are painfully aware of the task your planner gives to you: a laundry list of documents to find and send to them for review!
Once you organize your paperwork, it becomes much easier to analyze. For most people, 80% of what you would want to understand and analyze is similar to others. You want to:
A. Understand where your money goes each month; B. Know that you are not paying exorbitant investment fees; C. Understand what your social security benefits may be, making sure your beneficiaries are up to date, etc. There are numerous rules of thumbs and tools available, many of which are free, to help you make sense of your information. You just need to know where to look.
Finally, once you gather and analyze your situation, you want assurance that your sensitive information is safe, secure and protected. Technology and cyber security affect everyone today. Unfortunately, no one is immune. Connect to the wrong wi-fi network or click on a malicious link in a text message and your personal information and passwords are exposed internet hackers. Use a weak password and the hackers can steal your money and personal information. Technology can make the world a scary place!
Having a background in cyber security, technology, and financial planning allows me to share a unique insight, as each topic impacts the others to shape our daily lives and future. I abide by both the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Code of Ethics and the Certified Financial Planner® Code of Ethics. In other words, I strive to do right by you and provide educational information that is in your best interest. With that knowledge you can determine what is right for you thus this site should be an excellent starting point.
